Because He Lives

Cross Service_Passion Week_2019_00010411I’ve never seen anything like it.

“Jesus is my best friend now.”

“This decision is going to change everything in my life now.”

“I only wish I would have gotten saved a long time ago.”

These are just a few of my favorite responses from the many people who began a life-changing, ever-growing relationship with Jesus during Passion Week.

I’ve never seen anything like it in my 12 years of celebrating Easter at Mobberly. More people have come to saving faith in Christ this week than ever before! Two years ago, we prayed for 100 people to get saved during Passion Week, and by God’s grace 102 did. To God be the glory, however, that more than double that number this year, 254 people got saved in the last week at Mobberly! We have just experienced the greatest evangelistic Easter in our 81-year history! More than half of these salvations occurred in the events and services before the weekend. In fact, 2,409 people attended our pre-Easter services.

The Easter sermon “Because He Lives…” was from 1 Peter 1:3-4. God powerfully used His Word in every service and to the 4,903 people who worshiped with us Easter weekend. If you missed it or would like to see it again, you can watch it here.

We’ve seen dozens of people already take their next step in Discover Membership class or signing up for Baptism this week. Our staff team has been busy this week following up on these wonderful decisions for Christ. If you’d like to sign up to be baptized on I Am Not Ashamed Day, Sunday, May 19, click here.

I’m really looking forward to starting a series on the life of Elijah this Sunday. Every generation needs an Elijah. Be sure to invite who you are engaging to join us this week for “Boldness Under Fire.”

See you Sunday,

Pastor Glynn
