"They are weak… but He is strong."

“Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, they are weak, but He is strong.” One of Trey’s favorite bedtime songs that we sing every night, per his request. Interestingly, after one time through the complete song, he asks us to repeat one phrase from that song but simply saying: “STRONG.” I love that fact that his comprehension of God’s might is incomprehensible. Ever since he learned that there is actually someone stronger than his own dad (God, Himself), he can’t get enough of the eternal truth that “we are weak, but He is strong.”

What will it take for us to revert back to such a profound elementary realization? God does not work through us because we are strong, because we are talented, or because we are special. He works through weakness. There was a king in the Old Testament,Uzziah. It was said, “he was marvelously helped until he was strong” but when weakness, personal insufficiency, and utter inability are consciously felt, realized, and known, then the power of God and His purpose in our perils can be fulfilled.
