Thank You Veterans!

While I have never served our country in the military, I try not to miss an opportunity to say “thank you” to any soldier I see in public.  Yesterday was certainly no exception.  What a joy to voice appreciation to an Army Sergeant, Monday afternoon in downtown Fort Worth, and have him reply, “It’s my pleasure.”  It reminded me of ordering a chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A.   It also reminded me of a lesson we have been learning from Caleb’s faithful service seen in Joshua 14.  When people have a servant’s perspective on their job, their position, or their life it reflects that they have gained an inner satisfaction.  After all, it is more blessed to give than to receive. I am so thankful for Veterans and our current servicemen and women, but I’m most thankful for the One who gave the most – His only Son.
