God At Work

This has been such an encouraging week. We know God is at work; we pray for God to work; but when we see life-change we aren’t exactly quick to thank and praise Him for that. This week, God blessed in very visible ways. On Sunday, we had 22 people accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord. We also saw 21 other decisions from people taking another step in their ever-growing relationship with Jesus. Then while at the Southern Baptist Convention, I’m reading through national statistics and information, only to notice that Mobberly is listed 50th out of 43,000 SBC churches in total dollars given to Cooperative Program Missions. WOW! Then at while at High School camp with our students in Missouri, I witnessed 5 students publicly commit their lives to vocational ministry.
Speaking of God at work, God carried my dad through extensive back surgery earlier this week in Jacksonville, Fl. I’m so appreciative of so many of you who prayed for him and continue to do so. Recovery is occurring though it will be slow. Philippians 2:13 says: “It is God who is at work in us, both to will and do His good pleasure.”
